Cougars stifle Hawks 58-40

The Holly Springs Hawks boys basketball team participated in the annual Tangle on the Triangle at Pontotoc High School.

Holly Springs High School was among the 16 teams participating in Saturday’s tournament. Due to a scheduling conflict, the Hawks had a two-game break, with key players not available for the Hawks in this game.

The Hawks squared off against the South Pontotoc Cougars. The Cougars wasted no time in this one, racing to a 20-6 lead in the first quarter. The Cougars kept the momentum going into half time 36-19.

The Cougars won the game with a final score of 58-40.

The Hawks travel to the Tupelo Challenge tournament Dec. 28 and 29 and then on to the Commodore tournament January 6.
