Cards earn district wins

The Potts Camp Cardinals constantly had the home scoreboard clicking with points Tuesday, Dec. 12, at home.

Coach Jeremy Dillard’s Cardinals soared past the Falkner Eagles 88-40 in a Region 2-1A match-up.

It was the first of two district wins for the Cards last week.

Potts Camp, led by Mitchell Saulsberry, surged ahead of Falkner 43-12 at halftime. Saulsberry scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half.

Potts Camp led 12-6 at the end of the first period and 25-21 at halftime but then got outscored 26-19 in the second half.

Ashley Anderson scored a game-high 17 points for the Lady Cardinals with 13 of those coming in the second half. Jazmine Anderson was also in double digits with 10.
