Cardinals win battle of I-78
The Potts Camp Cardinals hosted the Myrtle High School Hawks in Friday night’s annual “battle of I-78,” clash.
Myrtle set the tone early by scoring the first touchdown and taking a 7-0 lead over the Cardinals. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would respond by scoring twice, taking a 14-7 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Hawks scored, but their next move cost them the game by going for the two-point conversion and failing keeping Potts Camp in front by one 14-13. The Cardinals’ defense
helped secure the victory, winning by a final score of 1413 and claiming bragging rights for the “battle of I-78”.
The Cardinals host Thrasher High School for their next game on September 8 at 7 p.m.
