Cardinals, Indians drop games
It was tough Friday night for both the Potts Camp and Byhalia football teams.
In a game riddled with penalties, the Cardinals fell 37-8 at home to Myrtle.
Potts Camp trailed 19-0 at halftime and then the offense started the third quarter with a three and out. The Hawks scored on a pass play to go up 25-0, and then a Cardinal turnover led to another Myrtle score. It was 31-0 after three quarters. The Hawks added their last score with 10:41 remaining. The Cards got on the scoreboard with Jeffrey Curry’s 70-yard touchdown run and his two-point conversion.
“There were a lot of flags on both teams,” said Potts Camp Head Coach Chris Daniels. “We had more turnovers than we should have, and that hurt us.”
Potts Camp (0-2) will travel to Thrasher this Friday. The Rebels are also 0-2 after a 41-0 loss last Friday to Alcorn Central.
Byhalia lost 47-22 last Friday at Independence. The Indians (0-2) will host Ashland this Friday. The Blue Devils are also 0-2, coming off a 35-19 loss at Mantachie.
