Cardinals fall victim to Biggersville’s fourth-quarter surge
A Region 1-1A clash Friday night between Potts Camp and Biggersville was decided in the last 12 minutes.
The Cardinals trailed by just four, 18-14, entering the final period. That’s when the Lions added two touchdowns while holding Potts Camp scoreless the rest of the way and exited Marshall County with a 31-14 win.
“It was anybody’s game going to the fourth quarter, and they (the Lions) made more plays than we did,” said Markeith Washington, head coach of the Cardinals. “A play here and a play there made the difference in the ball game.”
Quamon Davis scored four touchdowns for Biggersville. His 34-yard run in the first quarter put the Lions up 6-0, and then in the second quarter, he traveled 42 yards for six more points.
