Byhalia town fall league signups begin

Teri Reagh, director of the Byhalia Parks and Recreation Department, said it is time for Coed and Little League ball teams to signup for the fall league.

Reagh said that the city reduced team fees from $500 to $300 because of the economy.

“Because of the economy and the way it is, and school beginning in a few weeks, we decided to bring down the price to $300 per team,” she said.

Reagh said Little League signups are $65 per person or $300 a team.

“The teams during the summer can keep the same teams for the fall and signup for $300,” Reagh said.

Signups will end Aug. 10 and the games will begin September 5 and be held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Byhalia Ball Park.

Recently, Parks and Recreation received $1,442 from the first annual BBQ Cook-off.

Reagh is glad to see the extra funds to be able to put toward items needed.

“We are very excited,” Reagh said. “All the money goes back into the complex, the kids, uniforms, and equipment.”

For fall league registration go to the Byhalia Town Hall, 225 Highway 309, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. Until 4 p.m.
