Byhalia loses two at Southaven

Turnovers, poor shooting and the other team’s free-throw accuracy down the stretch saddled Byhalia basketball teams with losses on Tuesday of last week.

Coach James Sales’ Class 4A Indians lost 66-58 at Class 6A Southaven, a team it had beaten by 14 to start the season in the Olive Branch Classic.

“In the first half, we played pretty good,” he said. “Corey Hardin was injured and it changed the momentum of the game. No one could make shots, except for Avion (Graham). They really won the game from the free-throw line. We did not play well.”
