Byhalia Lions raise funds for 4-H Shooting Club

As part of their mission to help others, the Byhalia Lions Club takes on roles as organizers, advocates, fundraisers, and hands-on volunteers. Their commitment to the community was demonstrated once again on Thursday, May 11, as they hosted a skeet shooting event at Mallard’s Croft near Barton.

After various prizes were given away, the shooters began the 15-station skeet shoot.

Bo Yarbrough, Bobby McAlexander, John Brewster, Owen Cruise, and Jacob Orellana were the best shooting team members. The best shooter was Jacob Orellana, a 4-H Shooting Club member who outperformed everyone.

Pat and Gracie Woods donated a Remington Rifle that was raffled, and the winner was Jeffrey King. King immediately returned it to the program to be auctioned, with proceeds going to the Marshall County 4-H Shooting Club. Tom Green placed the winning bid.

Monetary prizes and shotgun shells were awarded to the best shooting team and best shooter.

All proceeds from the event were donated to the Marshall County 4-H Shooting Club. Northcentral Electric Cooperative provided a delicious lunch with all the trimmings from Jimbo Brickhouse Barbecue, in Byhalia.
