Byhalia girls win in relays

Byhalia enjoyed a successful trip to the Class 4A North State Track Meet Saturday at Tishomingo County.

Every athlete who competed qualified for state. Those who finished in the top four at North State are going to Jackson this weekend.

Byhalia girls

100 meter dash – Jasmine Malone, second, 12.05.

400 meter dash – Soniya Mixon, fourth, 1:04.41.

1600 meter run – Makayla Blessike, third, 5:56.11.

3200 meter run – Makayla Blessike, second, 13:17.97.

4x100 meter relay – Markayla Walker, Kaniyah Holts, Sonyia Mixon, Jasmine Malone, first, 50.17.

4x200 meter relay – Markayla Walker, Kaniyah Holts, Sonyia Mixon, Jasmine Malone, first, 1:47.36.

4x400 meter relay – Makayla Blessike, Annie Richmond, Markayla Walker, Jasmine Malone, first, 4:18.50.

The Byhalia girls, with 57 points, finished fourth. First was Senatobia with 142.5, second Pontotoc with 116, and third Kosciusko with 68.5. Nineteen schools competed.

110 meter hurdles – Jonterious Jones, third, 15.62.

4x400 meter relay – Corvell Todd, Tubyron Harris, Tyrico Richmond, Jonterious Jones, fourth, 3:37.82.

High jump – Corvell Todd, second, 6-4.25.

Long jump – Corvell Todd, first, 21.6.5

Shot put – Balies Jones, first, 46-10.

The Byhalia boys finished seventh overall with 42 points.
