Foul trouble proved costly for the H.W. Byers boys Friday night.
The Lions, in their first game since the holiday break, fell 68-63 on the road to Myrtle. It was just their second loss in Region 2-1A.
“We got in foul trouble early and often with two starters fouling out in the second half,” coach Kevin Jones said. “We lost a lot of scoring with Michael Mabon only playing one minute in the second half.
“We also had a lot of missed opportunities to take the lead in the fourth quarter.
