The story of the Lions this season is coming up short in close games. So many times this season, the game could have gone the Lions way, but unfortunately didn't.
Byers came into Friday's game with their 1A playoff lives on the line. But to get a playoff birth, they'd have to win out on the road for the next two games.
The first matchup was the Thrashers Rebels. After a tough nose battle between the two teams, the Thrasher Rebels got the victory 31-30, ending Byers hopes of a postseason.
The Lions end their season on the road Friday, Nov. 4, in Belden, to take on the Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles.
