Brown looks for seniors to lead the way

Holly Springs High School Hawks head coach Clifford Brown is coming into the 2023 season looking for his strength to be the seniors.

Coach Brown says his skill players stand out the most after rushing some players into action during the previous season.

Coach Brown likes his Hawks’ chances in the district this year and thinks his team should be playing in the postseason at the end of the season.

The Hawks players to watch for on the field are Deonte Jefferson, Keonte Jefferson, Jaylen Sims, Richaud Kirkland, Kentravian Kinkle, and LeeAnthony Stephens.

Holly Springs High School assistant coach Bobby Barksdale expects his defense to thrive this season and grow as the season progresses.

The Hawks lost to Mantachie with a final score of 34-12 in Friday night action Aug. 25. They will host H.W. Byers Lions on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Sam Coopwood Park in Holly Springs.
