Blue Devils rally to knock off West Lowndes

The defending Class 1A state champions had to rally to stay alive on Wednesday of last week at Jackson State University.

The Ashland Blue Devils, trailing 51-45 entering the fourth quarter, escaped with a 71-67 win over West Lowndes in the state quarter-finals.

Star player DeAnthony Tipler had the biggest play of the comeback. With the outcome in the balance late, he drove to the hoop, scored and was fouled. He then cashed in the free throw to ice the win.
