Blue Devils first in meet

Athletes from H.W. Byers, Ashland and Hickory Flat performed well in the Division 31A track meet last week.

The meet was held at Potts Camp High School.

In team rankings, the Ashland boys claimed first in the district with 94 points. Hickory Flat was fourth with 12 and Byers fifth with six.

Myrtle was second with 75 and Coldwater third with 31.

The Hickory Flat girls placed second with 77 points, Ashland third with 36 and Byers fourth with 21. Myrtle was first with 92 and Coldwater fourth with 21.

Several participants from the Marshall and Benton County schools finished in the top four in their respective events and will advance to the Regional Meet.
