Ashland teams advance to capital city

The Ashland Blue Devils are going back to Jackson to defend their Class 1A state championship.

And the Lady Blue Devils will be heading to the state tournament, too.

Both teams picked up wins in the second round of the state tourney last weekend to move on to the quarter-finals this week in the capital city.

The Ashland boys got 21 points from DeAnthony Tipler in a 54-43 win over Kennedy Saturday night at home.
