Ashland splits with rival Hickory Flat

Benton County rivals Ashland and Hickory Flat met on the basketball court last week with each school picking up a win.

The host Hickory Flat girls knocked off Ashland 60-53 in the opener Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The Lady Rebels led 8-6 after one quarter and 22-17 at halftime. In the third, the Lady Blue Devils battled back to knot the score at 34. Then, in the final quarter, Hickory Flat outscored Ash­land 26-19 to win by seven
