Ashland downs Hornets by 21

Ashland scored 42 of its 68 points in the second half in the Class 1A quarter-finals at Mississippi Coli­seum.

“The second half is when we finally settled in,” said coach Rolley Tipler, whose Blue Devils are seeking a third straight state championship. “We pushed the tempo and finally played a little bit of defense.”

The end result was a 68-47 win March 1 over Montgo­mery County and a spot in the semi-finals on Monday afternoon of this week versus Houlka
