Ashland coasts to wins over Byers

The H.W. Byers basketball teams traveled to the neighboring county (Ben­ton) to take on Ashland for rivalry games Friday night.

The Lady Blue Devils cruised past the Lady Lions in a 65-13 final decision.

Byers got the tip, but came up empty. Back-to-back threes from O’Briana Davis and a trey from Kaylen Archibald helped the Lady Blue Devils grab an early lead, 9-5. Byers’ Dallas Fitzpatrick sank a bucket and Briana Murphy hit a three. The Lady Blue Devils poured in some more shots and were up 24-6 as the first expired.
