Thomas Roper V and Rev. Beth Johnson

Couple to say vows in April 11 ceremony at Daniel’s Ridge

Mr. and Mrs. John Alan Johnson of Mobile, Ala., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Rev. Beth Alayne Johnson to Thomas Davis Roper V, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Roper IV of Chester, Va.

Beth is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lanier Young of New Albany and Dr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson of Gautier, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Young of Potts Camp, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Kimery of Ashland. Davis is the grandson of the late Norman Burnes and Kathryn Burnes of Richmond, Va., and of the late Thomas Davis Roper III and Martha Roper of Virginia Beach, Va.

Beth is the pastor of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Sanford, NC, High Falls United Methodist Church in Robbins, NC, and Fair Promise United Methodist Church in Robbins. Beth holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC, a Bachelor of Arts in Music Degree from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala., where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity and Drum Major for The Scarlet and Grey Marching Band and is a honors graduate of Faith Academy in Mobile, Ala. Beth is a member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC.

Davis is a mechanical engineer with The John Deere Corporation in Cary, NC. Davis holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree from North Carolina State in Durham, NC, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from The University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland. Davis is an honors graduate of Downingtown West High School in Downingtown, Pa. Davis is a member of Edenton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC.

An April 11, 2026, wedding is planned at Daniel’s Ridge in Sanford, NC.
