Charlie Farris, Bea Green, John Stuber
City Personals
Saturday, most of the world was tuned into the royal wedding of Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle. Kay Wheeler hosted a royal wedding watch party in her home. Needless to say, waking at 4:30 a.m. is never on the top of anyone’s priority list, especially on a weekend. However, we filled her home nonetheless, some donning hats and fascinators, others crowns, but all in our pajamas. We were greeted by Charlie Farris and John Stuber, appropriately attired in their tuxes with tails. Champagne glasses were never empty with those two on alert. Bea Green and Vicki Webb provided bouquets with special order greenery and baby’s breath for the attendees. Kay’s mantel had silver mint juleps with arrangements of red roses accented by baby’s breath, as did the dining room table. Breakfast casseroles, biscuits, fresh fruit, scones and British biscuits were served.
As solemn as Prince William and Kate’s wedding was, as well as Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s, this one proved to be a far cry from the British norm. The bride’s veil was stunning, very reminiscent of Princess Diana’s. Guests gathered from all over the world to witness history being made.
Here’s to the newlyweds and may we all be able to catch up on lost sleep.
