Katherine Virginia Kemp, 52, died peacefully in her home in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was a 1991 graduate of Marshall Academy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Millsaps. She went on to the University of Southern Mississippi where she received her Master’s Degree in English. Her last educational stop was Mississippi College, where she received a Juris Doctorate. She practiced law all over North Mississippi before finally settling down in Florida.

She leaves behind two loving sons, Gerald Parker of Lake Cormorant and Chance Towery from Florida. She is also survived by her younger brother, Bill Kemp, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a plethora of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her middle son, Luke and her parents, Ginger and Bill Kemp.

Two weeks in a row, the gym at Marshall Academy hosted the cheerleaders. Both the junior high and varsity had home camps this summer. UCA sent some amazing leaders to get the squads ready for the upcoming football season. Coaches Brandy Gray and Caitlyn Bray, junior and varsity respectively, were proud of their girls and all they learned. They put on exhibitions at the end of both weeks for family and friends. Cannot wait to see them in action Thursday and Friday nights. Animal loving, sweet as sugar Vivi Kyle Shaw turned 11 Monday. She celebrated with a party at her home surrounded by family and friends.
