Friday nights mean football

What a season home opener Friday night at Patriot field against the West Memphis Christian Black Knights! It was an edge-of-your-seat game to the bitter end, with the Patriots scraping by with a final of 29-21. This week, Lord willing and the creeks don’t rise from fallout of Harvey, they will meet up at home against Falkner High School with kickoff at 7 p.m..

Drayton Potts had a crowd pack the stands to watch him in action Friday night. Carolyn and Jerry Potts, Jessica and Jimmy Potts and children, June and July, from Decaturville, Tenn., Margie Potts, Reuben Campbell and Hunter, as well as Madison, were there to cheer on the Patriots. It was a great night for the junior football player, as he had a pick six for 74 yards as well as a touchdown catch, with the pass thrown by quarterback Eli Pearson. The Potts crew were the guests of Amy and Donnie Potts and children, Addison and Drayton, Friday night. They enjoyed family time Saturday before going home.

Wynne and Josh Clark and precious son, Paxton, of Fulton, attended the Patriots junior high football game Thursday night at home to watch their brother, Dunn Boatwright, whoop it up on the field.
