Becky Cupp traveled to Nashville, Tenn., to attend a baby shower for the upcoming arrival of her great-grandchild, Townes Reynolds Fitch. Becky’s daughter, Beverly Varadi and granddaughter, Shelby Fitch accompanied her. They stayed with grandson, Trey Fitch, his wife Lacee and their precious son, Stetson. I cannot wait to meet the new baby when he makes his grand entrance.
Dwight Yoakam is always a great show. The seasoned country singer was live in concert recently in Southaven at BankPlus Amphitheater. Several locals were spotted two stepping in the crowd including Susan and Bobby Bonds and Anita and Rosamond Barnett.
Oxford was one of the sites chosen by the NCAA to host a post season regional baseball tournament. Lots of locals went down to root on the mighty Rebels of Ole Miss. Greg and Laney Gresham went for game one, as well as Maddie Bennett and precious son, Ollie. The die hard fans had tremendous seats right above the Ole Miss dugout.
Irene “Reenie” Strickland hosted a perfectly gorgeous cowgirl/disco themed luncheon in her home for her granddaughter, Marlee Rhea, who just became a teenager. There was a beautiful banner created by Millie Teel hanging on the porch that depicted a disco ball, cowgirl boots and birthday wishes for Marlee. The table was set with ornate china plates over gold chargers, silverware and silver water goblets. The girls were treated to chicken spaghetti, English peas, homemade rolls and freshly cut fruit, which was presented in china tea cups. The centerpiece for the dining room table was so unique and fun ~ a pair of Marlee’s boots overflowing with big, round blue hydrangeas. There was a Shirley Temple bar with all of the add ins to make the perfect little drink. Jennifer Thompson knocked it out of the park, as usual, with ornate petit fours, each one depicting items from the luncheon’s theme. The girls were presented with personalized kraft bags tied with beautiful pink bows as party favors which included their Shirley Temple cups and reusable straws. Happy, happy birthday wishes to Marlee and here’s to many more fabulous parties hosted by your Reenie.
