Ray - a true patriach who will be sadly missed

When I say the best of the best are a dying breed, I truly mean it. Ray Gallagher was one of the absolute kindest, gentlest souls I have ever known. When Nonnie would tell me his mama was riding in from what I considered “the country” (just down in Waterford), I would get so excited. Their entire family has been intertwined for decades with mine. They are an amazing group of people with Ray as the patriarch. When I received the phone call about him dying, my heart literally sank. He was one I thought would live forever if for no other reason than, because he was just that good. Lots of love goes out to his wonderful family. Ray will be sorely missed.

Mother Nature delivered a wallop of snow during the wee hours Friday morning. Cemetery hill was jam packed with locals zooming down and hiking back up for another ride. Our town is beautiful but really shows out when she is shrouded in snow.

We have two new Grands in town now with the births of two gorgeous little girls.

Emily Cothern welcomed her sweet grand, Nova Kate Wells, January 1. She weighed a delicate 5 pounds and 9 ounces. Her proud parents are Heidi Pasco and Chris Wells.

Samantha Morris joined the Grand club January 5 with the birth of beautiful Hypatia Renee Morris. She came into this world at 7 pounds and 2 ounces of pure perfection. Mama and Daddy are Ruby and Samuel Morris. Also there to welcome her was Renee Tice, proud Great Grand.
