Last week was a time was had at Marshall Academy. The week was chalked full of amazing dress up days leading to the homecoming grand finale. Friday morning, six floats that were Mardi Gras level trucked through the square, along with the beautiful homecoming maids and their attendants. After returning back to campus, there were lots of activities on the football field, concluding with the annual (always anticipated) senior skit. A big shout out to Coach Wesley Harris who worked tirelessly Friday afternoon to get the field ready for the game that night against the Kirk Academy Raiders.
At halftime of the homecoming game, Addi Durham, daughter of Beth and (Coach) Durham was announced Homecoming Queen. Rosamond Barnett, 2023 Homecoming Queen, returned from Mississippi State to crown.
Tuesday, September 17, Emma and David Woods and Cameron and Jason Rhea hosted the 2024 Homecoming Court for a beautiful dinner. The Woods’ home made for a beautiful backdrop for the gorgeous court and their precious attendants.
Saturday, my bunch traveled to enemy territory in Starkville to watch the Bulldogs take on the Florida Gators. They met Trace’s family for the game. Funny enough, Caitlyn, Trace and Delilah were decked out in orange and blue, Trace’s team as his Granddaddy played for Florida. They nestled themselves in the Gridiron Club. Imagine the looks they got, albeit coming off a week of homecoming festivities for Caitlyn, nobody said a sideways word to her. Needless to say, the Gators handily beat the Bulldogs.
Brooks Davis enjoyed visiting the Memphis Zoo on Saturday with his mother and father, Jessica and Ethan Davis; his mimi, Kathy Sinclair; and aunt, Amber Mason.
