Fourth of July – a true blast

When you live in a small town like ours, you sometimes take for granted knowing people and seeing them around often. I had a wonderful blast from the past last week in the produce section of Big Star. I ran into Paula Rhodes. I have not seen her in ages, but often think of her and her beautiful children, Mandi (Curtis) Gardner and Justin Curtis. It was great to catch up with her and fabulous finding out Justin is thriving as a man of the cloth in Maine and Mandi doing well for herself, both with a gaggle of children between them. When you have been involved in a school setting and lose touch with those you watched during their formative years, it is a breath of fresh air to hear they are doing well.

The Fourth of July this year was a true blast. Jordan and Josh Mask and daughter, Kinsley, hosted a gathering at their gorgeous home for the holiday. The pool area was well appointed with red, white and blue decor everywhere you looked. The pool offered a welcomed break from the oppressive heat. Party goers enjoyed tasty barbecue with all the fixins, appetizers galore and cold refreshments. When the sun went down, the fireworks commenced. It was a booming good time surrounded by amazing family and friends.
