Weekend packed full of Christmas festivities

Holly Springs was all a flurry this past weekend with all of the happenings around and near the square.

The Holly Springs Garden Club hosted the annual Holly and Ivy Ball. Locals and visitors alike enjoyed an evening full of merriment and revelry.

The ladies of Belles and Books outdid themselves with a gorgeous two seating luncheon Saturday. A special thank you to Steve Elgin and John Stuber for their last minute heroics. Each table was elaborately decorated, some using fresh flowers and greenery and some with very unique centerpieces. The fare was delicious and if you are lucky enough to have a copy of the cookbook the ladies published, you can find the recipes there.

Saturday evening, the square was full of adults and children alike ready to see the Christmas parade. Sheriff Kenny Dickerson led the festivities as the Grand Marshal. This year, there were so many fantastic floats. Santa Claus even made a special appearance riding a fire truck. What a wonderful time of year to live in a small town.

Melissa Westbrook, Kimberly East and Margaret Laney from Oxford drove up to enjoy the Belles and Books luncheon at the Kate Freeman Clark art gallery with members, Tammy Cupp and Susie Murphy.
