Charlie and Chandler Douglas visit here

Charlie and Chandler Douglas of Flowood were the weekend guests of Leigh Douglas. The duo came to town Saturday, enjoyed visiting with friends and family and left Sunday morning.

The City of Holly Springs outdid itself again this year with the beautiful array of fireworks. The square was jam-packed Thursday night, with live music before dark. The excitement was palpable, young children running around, some with lit up bows in their hair. The corn dog stand seemed to be a hot bed of activity for citizens. The corn dogs were enormous and the funnel cakes were fluffy and delicious, as always. The city really outdid itself...there was even a balding clown with glasses and tennis shoes on, bobbing his way in and out of the crowd. It was fantastic! Every year I think “how can it get better?” Each year following, it does. It is humbling to know that we all come together as a community to celebrate the Fourth of July in such a magnificent way! Thank you again, Mayor Buck, and everyone else who had a hand in making our night spectacular!

Grace Bonds, Dunn Boatwright, Rusty Bolden, Renea Childress, Wynne and Josh Clark and precious son, Paxton, spent several days last week in Panama City Beach, Fla.
