If you are a lifelong, long-time or a recent resident of Holly Springs, the name Landry Hearn should be very familiar to you. Her family hosted an 80th birthday party for her Friday, storms and all.

There is hardly a fond memory from my youth, as well as adulthood, that does not include Landry. Describing her as a mere friend does not quite hit the mark; she is more like family. I am sure there are many of you out there who feel the same and are shaking your heads in agreement reading that.

If you happen to see Landry out and about, be sure to hug her neck and wish her many, many more wonderful birthdays. She is truly a gem in our community!!

Beautiful MaryRives McCrosky, infant daughter of AnnYager and Alex McCrosky of Danville, Ky., was christened Sunday in the First Presbyterian Church. They were surrounded by family, friends and love.

Happy Birthday wishes to Boo Hinshaw, who celebrated big with a party over the weekend.
