Marshall Academy has open house Thursday, August 3, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Great strides have been made this summer to upgrade from top to bottom down there. When I was walking the halls, there was a huge library at the end of the high school building. We would use the Dewey Decimal system to scrounge around and find books for reports because none of us really read for fun, let’s be honest. Sometimes we would have study hall in the library. Later in years, there was a little deck built beyond the double doors. That was long after my time. With the vision of amazing people at Marshall Academy and the tremendous growth in enrollment, the old library has now been made into four classrooms. As a student and later a teacher down there, I never realized the enormity of that one area. I cannot wait to see how it has been remodeled.

If ever you have wondered what it looks like inside the walls of Marshall Academy, here is your chance to tour. It is, to me, the happiest little place on earth. Inside those walls are educators who care deeply about the education and well being, as a whole, of each and every student. Marshall offers a nurturing environment as well as one with sports, starting with Pee Wee cheer and football. Pop in if you are curious. It truly is one big family that continues on long after your own children graduate.
