Best friends keep long standing tradition going

A long standing tradition began decades ago with Tammy and Little Billy Cupp...no matter the teams, no matter the weather conditions, the two would trek to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl. In as many years, the couple never missed a game. This year, friends Tiffany Babb of Oxford and Susie Murphy accompanied Tammy to the bowl game Wednesday, Dec. 28. Needless to say this year the Arkansas Razorbacks from the SEC division were pitted against the Jayhawks of Kansas, a team from the Big 12. Arkansas dominated the first three quarters pretty well. Kansas put it on them in the fourth quarter, tying the game up forcing overtime. It was tit for tat in the first overtime, forcing a second. More of the same again, pushing for a third overtime. Kansas could not produce and Arkansas did ending the Liberty Bowl with the highest score ever in that bowl 55-53.

As I sat and watched, all I could think of was how Little Billy had a hand in that knowing Tammy was there with her friends. From the fourth quarter rally by Kansas to overtime after overtime after overtime. Historically, the Liberty Bowl has not been one for the books score wise or team wise.

This year, it was as magical as it could get for three best friends and the finest angel of them all watching from above.
