Please lift up Ralph (Shorty, as most of us know him) Shaw in your prayers. He is recovering from major surgery. Shorty is strong as an ox and is just as determined. In the weeks to come, please keep Amy and the rest of his family in your thoughts.
As Christmas approaches, remember to shop locally. Byhalia and Holly Springs alike are brimming with amazing boutiques and florists ready to help you finish your lists or, if you are a procrastinator, they can certainly put a dent in the beginning of your shopping! For some who do not like the experience of being around people, most boutiques will fulfill your holiday lists, wrapping your purchases and having them ready for you to pickup. All it would take is a phone call and some semblance of what you need for each person on the nice list.
Monday, all of social media was swarming with the news Mike Leach, Mississippi State’s football coach, had a cardiac episode Sunday in Starkville. He was air lifted to UMC in Jackson where he sadly did not make it. His family, as well as his State family, were shrouded in prayers from all across the country, devoted fans laying down their rivalries. There will never be another coach who had such colorful interviews or locker room speeches. I will close with an excerpt from one of Coach Leach’s quotes from years past, “…You know, it’s like fruitcake. There’s a reason they serve fruitcake once a year, because it’s awful…”
