Jake Jones and fiancé, Brittany Scott, we’re celebrated Saturday night with a beautiful supper on the porch at the home of Patti and Fred Carlisle. Guests were greeted with an assortment of appetizers and mingling. Supper consisted of wonderful chicken strips, pasta salad, green beans and homemade banana pudding. A true Southern spread. Hosts included the Carlisles, Kathy and Steve Elgin, Jane and Charlie Farris, Diane Greer, Laurie and George Gwinn, Maia Miller, Leigh and Kelton Morris, Robin Seale, Michele and John Stuber and Kay and Laura Wheeler.

Big congratulations go out to Retro Rooster and its owners, Anita Barnett and Kathy Elgin. Retro Rooster was named Main Street Association’s 2022 Outstanding Merchandising. Reread that - it is statewide recognition, y’all. I have said it for years and I will continue to say it, for all of your shopping needs from small to big and everything in between, the ladies at Retro Rooster can fix you up for all of it. Not only is the staff well versed on every product they carry, they are overly nice and help when you need advice on purchases. Congratulations, ladies, for being the bright spot on one of our corners of the square.
