Saturday was a gorgeous evening for an engagement celebration. Anita Barnett hosted an elegant outdoor event honoring Brittany Scott and Jake Jones on their impending nuptials.

The back was lit up from one side to the other with bud white lights. Gorgeous blooming flowers flanked the pool and outdoor kitchen area. The food table was full of scrumptious goodies from succulent prime rib to charcuterie, an array of pick up desserts and cheeses smothered in jellies and sauces.

Brittany and Jake will exchange their vows in September. They traveled from Stillwater, Oklahoma for the party.

Marshall Academy Patriots begin their quest for the State Championship ring this week. First pitch of the series was Tuesday night at Marshall. The second game will be Thursday in Waynesboro, as they’re playing Wayne Academy who were the South champions. If game three is needed, it will be back at Marshall Saturday.

Good luck to this group of young men as they have been roping balls and playing amazing defense all season to get them here!
