Friends of Marshall Academy fundraiser begins

The square was a flurry of folks running around Monday shopping for Valentine’s Day or joining their Valentine for lunch. It was nice to see people shopping locally, as we have such incredible places around the square to do exactly that. All too often we forget that our local stores are owned by generational Holly Springs' citizens. Not only are you able to receive top notch service from people who actually know you and your family, you are helping grow our economy here in town. Remember this for not only holidays, but for times you just want to pick up a happy for someone or you want to treat yourself!

If ever you need radiology images, may I suggest Miss Terry at Alliance Hospital. I needed some testing a couple of weeks ago. It was so nice to be greeted by a friendly face (under a mask, of course). Miss Terry has been a constant at Alliance for more than a decade. Not only is she super knowledgeable, she is more than accommodating if you feel uncomfortable while she is rolling the scanner. If hospitals unnerve you, rest assured she will be the one to calm the storm. Kudos to Alliance for keeping such a bright person on staff to help in a time of need!

Friends of Marshall Academy have begun their fundraiser, 30 Guns - 30 Days. This fundraiser was put on hold due to lack of supply, so some may be unfamiliar with the premise. Tickets are sold for $30 each or four for $100 from now until March 31. Tickets are placed in a large plastic wheel. Every day in April, one ticket is drawn from the wheel.

The winner receives a firearm that is associated with that particular day on the 30 for 30 calendar. After all 30 days have been drawn, those same 30 tickets will go back in the wheel. There is one final spin for a chance to win $500 cash. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket or several, they are available at Smith Whaley Law Firm on the historic Holly Springs square. The proceeds from this fundraiser go towards improvements at Marshall Academy.
