Baby shower honors Caitlyn Bray

Lexi Crawford and Arin Leigh Valentine hosted a beautiful baby sprinkle honoring Caitlyn Bray Saturday. The home of Ashley and Tim Cook was decorated top to bottom with all things girlie in anticipation of Delilah Jane. The buffet table was centered with a trail of soft roses and greenery. The mantle was encased in a fun array of balloons arranged in a swag. The sprinkle was attended by a select few, which included Caitlyn’s mother in law, Melanie Bray from Cleveland, her mother, Mary Clay Brooks, grandmother, Kay Wheeler and aunt, Laura Wheeler. A grand time was truly had by all!

Laura Wheeler celebrated her birthday Monday night with a family dinner, which included close family friend, Becky Cupp. Rowan Thomp son of Dallas, Texas, was also there, as he is the guest of Kay and Laura this week.

Baseball playoffs began this week for the Marshall Academy Patriots. They traveled to Indianola Tuesday to begin bracket play. They will host Indianola Thursday at 5 p.m. Go down and support this fine group of amazing athletes in their quest for a state title!

Tuesday, April 27, is the date of the city runoff elections. Voter turnout was pitiful in the Democratic Primary a couple of weeks ago. It is so funny how everyone wants to gripe about this or that when it comes to city business yet they have not cast their ballot for one candidate or another. Go vote! Several positions are in a run-off – alderman atlarge and Ward 3 and Ward 4 aldermen seats as well. All three of those positions are integral to our city government.

The mayoral seat is also up for grabs, but that election will not be until the General Election in June. There is also an alderman seat opening that will be determined in the June election.

Exercise your right to vote. It is of the utmost importance. Go vote!
