Hill Crest blooming with spring flowers

Congratulations to Erin Burleson, a freshman at the University of Southern Missis sippi. After a rigorous interviewing process, she was selected to be a member of Eagle Connection. The students chosen will be ambassadors to future Eagles, with duties including showing them around campus, attending college fairs at high schools and helping prospective students navigate around during large events held on campus.

Finally it feels and looks like spring has sprung and hopefully we are finished with winter! If you have not been through Hill Crest Cemetery, it is worth it to see the blooming Bradford pear trees around the bottom loop of the hill. Driving under the canopy of flowering trees is almost magical.

Also spring brings about shower and wedding season. If you are ever in need of a printer for fliers, invitations, raffle tickets, signs, t-shirts, you name it the incredible crew at South Center Printing can handle it. Everyone there is so easy to work with and they can bring any design to life exactly how you envisioned. We are very fortunate to not have to leave town for any printing needs.

The Marshall Academy baseball team spent spring break last week on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Patriots played in a multi-state tournament. The Patriots came home victorious, ripping through the competition. New Orleans, La., was a stop on one of the days they had a late game. They enjoyed taking in the sights and stopping by Cafe Du Monde for one of a kind beignets.

This young team truly is a force to be reckoned with this season. The bats have been on fire throughout the lineup and fielding has been remarkable. If you want to watch a great local team play, check out their schedule for the next home game. I promise, you will not be disappointed!
