Maia Miller celebrates birthday with family and friends

Friday night, the Marshall Academy Patriots kicked off their first home football game of the season. They hosted the Myrtle High School H a w k s. Prior to the game, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department delivered the game ball, dedicated to the mother of Patriot player Jamarius Rooks, via helicopter. His family lost Jessica tragically in an automobile accident. The outpouring of love for the entire Rooks family was felt by everyone at the game.

Lines for both teams struggled for most of the game. Jack Whaley Smith broke out and put points on the board first for Marshall, followed by a run from newcomer Devin Sanders. Keaton Morgan drilled both PATs through the uprights, putting the Patriots up 14-0, which is where they left it at the final buzzer.

Happy 21st birthday to Tyler Bolden! He celebrated with a party of family and friends over the weekend. Here’s to being an adult and all the fun things it has to offer.

Happiest of birthdays to Maia Miller! She was surrounded by her family for her special day, as well as friends.
