Congratulations Erin Burleson on joining Delta Gamma

Congratulations to Erin Burleson, who joined the ranks of Delta Gamma, a sorority at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hat ties burg. What a great way to kick off her freshman year in college. They are fortunate to have a shining star like Erin in their organization.

Happy birthday wishes to Grace Bonds, who celebrated Friday. Wynne Clark and son, Paxton, came over Saturday to enjoy the day.

Get well wishes to Renea Childress, who had a knee replacement Monday. She is blessed beyond words to have Ali Crawford as a daughter to help her recover. Here’s to pain free dancing nights sooner than later.

Welcome back to all of our city and county school students. Whether your children are learning in person or virtually, as a community we need to support them as best as we can. I hate to even say it is a “new normal” because there is truly nothing normal about any of this. It is merely a bump in the road. Some need pushed more than others to get to the precipice. Keep encouraging one another, most especially those educating. They are spending a lot more time planning how to help your children safely learn. This year, although different, will be one for the books!

Friday night lights - what a welcomed sight! The Patriots of Marshall Academy traveled to Batesville last week and tied up with the North Delta Green Waves. Having lost a lot of seniors, as well as leadership, the Patriots bobbled a bit and came out behind when the final whistle blew. This week, they travel to Pelahatchie to play East Rankin Academy.
