A tribute to Vernelle Winter

Vernelle Winter flew to the Pearly Gates Wed nesday of last week. To know her was to know someone who was larger than life. She had a laugh that was contagious! If you were in a store and heard that laugh, you knew she was not far off. Vernelle was always above board no matter the situation. If ever there was an honest answer to be given, she was the one who would tell you.

Vernelle raised dachshund puppies way back. When we lived in South Dakota, my Nonnie got a standard, short hair red male and had him shipped to me from Memphis, Tenn. We named him Mr. Holly. He brought our family joy for many, many years and we will never forget Vernelle who started our obsession with “wiener dogs.”

There is no doubt the trumpets were blowing ninety to nothing at Heaven’s gate when Vernelle arrived. She was loved beyond measure on earth.

Wynne and Paxton Clark were the guests of Grace Bonds and son, Dunn, last week. Paxton has picked up golf and enjoyed time playing at Kirkwood.
