Congratulations, MA Patriots, district champs

Congratulations to the Marshall Academy Patriots boys basketball team. They defeated the Lee Academy Colts of Clarksdale over the weekend for the District 1-3A Championship by a whopping 70-33. Both varsity teams travel this week to Central Holmes to vie for the 3A North Half title. Good luck to them.

There has been a quiet rumble all over the town about several entities, as well as citizens, submitting a video application for Holly Springs to be chosen for HGTV’s “Home Town Takeover.”

Spring Hollow was prominently featured and future uses for it were discussed. We have such a beautiful landscape here that lends itself to great things for forward thinkers. Even if our town is not chosen, this has opened up the discussion of amazing ideas.

A small amphitheater in Spring Hollow would be so much fun, most especially for the summer blues series.

The video spot was well put together and hopefully, Holly Springs will be in the running for such a wonderful undertaking. A big thank you to those who put it together to send.

Here is to hoping Holly Springs is selected and if not, why not try to do some of the innovative things mentioned in the video? There seems to be plenty of grant monies floating around for green space around our historic square. Spring Hollow is already green, just needs a few structural additions.
