Love plays for Memphis

Grace Bonds celebrated her birthday last week with a supper in New Albany surrounded by family. She went on Saturday night to enjoy a concert, along with her daughter, Wynne Clark, in Tupelo. Here’s to many more amazing birthdays!

Football season kicked off Friday night for local schools. Byhalia and H.W. Byers came out on top of the heap as the rest of our teams seemed to struggle out of the gate. The first game is always the hardest – anticipation, nerves, preparation. Good luck to all of the schools as they take to fields near and far this week. Keep working hard!

Ole Miss has its season opener Saturday in Memphis, Tenn., against what we all know as Memphis State. Local talent, Corteze Love, begins his second season with the Tigers. Even if you bleed red and blue, you cannot help but pull for one player on the opposing team, number 56. Corteze belongs to Wanda and Arther Love of Potts Camp. Good luck, kid, in this game and all season long. We are rooting for you!
