Nancy Smith of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Helen Tyson of Nashville, Tenn., and Frances Winter of Monroe, La., were in town over the weekend. The trio came to attend the “Picnic on the Lawn” at the Chalmers Institute. It is times like that when you truly know you grew up a part of something spectacular in a hometown that is equally the same. Multi-generations are friends, not mere acquaintances. I joined the ladies for lunch at Southern Eatery, along with Becky Cupp, Bea Green, Robin Seale and Kay and Laura Wheeler. Forming friendships from the cradle are very special bonds. I cherish each and every one of my friends, near and far, and was so glad to get to visit with Nancy, Helen and Fran. With those three, there is just never a dull moment and always a good tale from the days of old around our town.
Will Carlton of Steamboat Springs, Colo., was in town over the weekend. He got to visit with his dad, Collier Carlton, mom, Vicki Webb, and other family and friends.
