Congratulations to Dickeys

Kat Moore, 2015 Marshall Academy graduate, has spent her college softball career starting for the Lady Bulldogs of Mississippi State. Sunday was her last regular season game at home. Local fans Nancy Jones, Penny and Erin Lomenick, Ginny Martin and Linda McKinney went to Starkville to watch Kat in action. She busted the cover off the ball during one at-bat sending it over the fence, her second out-of-the-park home run in the series. Kat made a positive impact on those at Marshall Academy with her peppy attitude and zest for softball. That was carried over to her SEC career, as well. She is the daughter of Clarice and Marcus Moore.

Congratulations to Sergeant and Mrs. Christopher Dickey, who exchanged vows on the front steps of Montrose Saturday afternoon in a beautiful ceremony. A harpist greeted guests upon their arrival and then played the wedding march as Mike Kazemba escorted his daughter, Hallie, down the front cobbled walkway. Bridesmaids wore beautiful Lily Pulitzer dresses and groomsmen wore matching ties.

The reception was held on the back lawn of Montrose. Tables were covered in brightly colored linens and each donned a McCarty bamboo vase filled with colorful arrangements.

DJ Walker Westbrook of Oxford played music for attendees to enjoy. The food table had a gorgeous arrangement in a moss-covered container as the focal point. A delicious array of pasta, fruits, cheeses and pick-up sandwiches meandered down the tables. Hallie chose to have a vast assortment of individual bundt cakes in lieu of a wedding cake. Christopher’s cake had a replica of Colonel Rebel on it.

The couple will honeymoon in New Orleans this week and return by the weekend. They will both be in the wedding of a couple who were their best man and maid of honor.
