Basketball season for the Marshall Academy Patriots has come to a close. The team traveled to Benton (near Yazoo City) over the weekend to battle for the Class AA state title. Friday night, they beat St. Joseph from Greenville to advance to the championship round Saturday night. The Patriots faced off with Brookhaven, the same final two from the championship game last year. The gym was packed with fans from both sides.

The game was tit for tat for a bit. The speed of some of the Patriots threw Brookhaven off for a moment. It was not long before Brookhaven pulled away, winning the blue trophy.

Congratulations to the senior players - Everette Jones, Drayton Potts, Zach Sorrell and Thomas Stewart. It has been so much fun watching y’all play together all these years. Each one of y’all brought a different element to the game and certainly to the fans. The next chapter will be incredible for all of these young men!
