Fundraiser for Bryson still open

My floors are still a work in progress. I may or may not be on track to have the majority of the work completed by the end of the year. While all of the flooring is not installed at this point, we may have to rip out what has already been done, at least I am not in danger of falling through the floors. We are also trying to clean and paint in between the stirring up of dust. Someday it will be all worth it, right? Different workers in and out and additional trips to Home Depot keep me busy.

I’m still going to physical therapy and still deciding between going on the only approved medicine for the liver disease I have (if and when the insurance makes a decision) or moving forward with the new clinical trial if the medication is not approved. I am truly a candidate for the medication, but insurance companies don’t always agree. I do know someone who is on one medication that is $35,000 per month. I’ve seen the invoice. Fortunately, for him, the insurance pays for it. It is shameful that sometimes the difference in life and death is whether or not you can afford the medication.

Christmas is so close. Hopefully, your shopping is complete (mine is and mostly wrapped), and you have plans to spend precious time with family and friends both in your homes and in church services of your choice. There are always those in need year around but holidays seem to be even harder. Help where you can, being sure the organization or individuals you help are legitimate. Certainly, there are those who will take advantage of your generosity, but if you give in the right spirit, you will be blessed.

I prefer to “shop local” when possible, but I do use grocery pickup services on occasion. This week as I only needed a few items, I placed an order for pick up at the time I thought I would be finished with other errands in the area. Arriving at the pickup area about five minutes before the order was to be ready I received a text that the order was delayed. It’s not that I live in a town where this is available so driving home and waiting for it to be ready did not make sense. One hour and twenty minutes later I was about to cancel the order when the text came that it was ready. Great. It took another hour for the items to be brought to my car. I could have easily gone in, done my own shopping and been home in that amount of time. On a positive note, it was then late enough I could meet my daughter for dinner.

Friday night my son and daughter-in-law took me to dinner and then drove around Collierville to see beautiful Christmas lights. This was always something my own mother looked forward to each year. So much time, effort and money goes into these decorations.

Just a reminder that the fundraiser for Bryson is still open at the Bank of Holly Springs. No amount is too small or too large. You can also make a donation at Byhalia Nutrition Shop. We are a long way from being able to purchase a van but will continue toward that goal. You can contact me at the numbers below for further information.

I would love to report your news, activities, etc. Please share your news with me either at jchwagg@gmail.com or text or call 901 246-8843. You can message me on Facebook as Clair Wagg.
