Outstanding source of news, information, and events

Dear Editor,

With the advent and popularity of electronic media, print, and paper communications have practically become obsolete. Marshall and its surrounding counties are truly blessed to have an outstanding source of news, information, announcements, and events. I am speaking of The South

Reporter, affectionately called in some quarters the Repeater. I urge all readers to financially support the local paper by subscribing to it or at least purchase your own copy rather than wait to read someone else’s.

With everything around us becoming more expensive, $.75 an issue to obtain relevant information is cheap and one of the best bargains to be had. Paper, print, collecting and obtaining the raw stories, distribution, etc., is not an inexpensive endeavor.

Send a copy to friends and relatives no longer close by. Keep them abreast of the goings on at home (news, sports, gossip, etc.). Better yet, get yourself and them a subscription at a discounted price, and have the paper home delivered.

Support literacy, reading, and learning as well. Many things are under-appreciated until we no longer have them. Let’s give the Reporter its flowers.

A concerned citizen.
