Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
The high school graduation season in Marshall County was marked by joy, pride, and a strong sense of community as HW Byers, Potts Camp, and Byhalia High Schools celebrated their graduating seniors.
Potts Camp kicked off the celebrations with their graduation ceremony on Friday, May 17. The following day, Saturday, May 18, HW Byers and Byhalia High held their respective ceremonies. Each event flowed seamlessly, highlighted by impactful speeches from guest speakers who inspired the graduates to reach for their dreams.
In addition to the memorable speeches, academic scholarships were awarded at all three ceremonies, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the students. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm, with many parents, family members, friends, and community members coming out to support the graduates.
A special tradition continued at HW Byers, where each graduating senior received a laptop, thanks to the generous donations from the community. This initiative ensures that students are well-equipped as they embark on their next journey, whether it be higher education or entering the workforce.
The superintendent, along with all but one school board member, attended all three graduations, showing their support and sharing in the celebrations. They expressed their pride in the achievements of the students and appreciation for the efforts of the principals, faculty, and staff.
Congratulations to all the graduates of HW Byers, Potts Camp, and Byhalia High. Your hard work has paid off, and we look forward to seeing what you will achieve in the future.
Marshall County takes pride in the accomplishments of its students and remains committed to supporting their educational journeys. Congratulations to the Class of 2024.
