LETTER TO THE EDITOR
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Rust College.
Rust College administration and the Office of Student Engagement, faculty and staff are thrilled to have you on campus for orientation. We are thinking of all the high school seniors and transfer students who soon will head to Holly Springs to begin their journey with us. I know you will love being a member of the amazing Rust College family.
This week you will take the first of many steps on the remarkable journey ahead of you. I want to assure you that you have a strong group of cheerleaders, supporters, mentors, and advisors here to help you make the most of your time.
During orientation you will have the opportunity to learn more about tactics for adjusting to college successfully, getting involved on campus, and making good choices. These sessions provide practical and valuable information on our policies and the many programs and services we have in place to promote a healthy environment supportive of student success as you embark upon your first year of college.
I want to thank the parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings, and fan clubs as well for being here. Although you may not end up spending as much time on campus as the students, you are deeply valued members of the Bearcat Family now. Without you, the students would not be here. The time, love, and money you have spent on them is truly appreciated.
Rust will provide a set of expectations for its students, a clear path to student success while encouraging students to excel academically, engage on campus and in the community, choose to make decisions that will elevate them in their future, and serve the campus and community. The faculty, staff, and administration encourage students to choose wisely and make decisions of which they, their families, and their institution can be proud. I am confident in your ability to excel in your quest of excellence and the administration is committed to helping all students be successful at Rust College.
