Bank of Holly Springs

Letter to the Editor

Thanks for helping with Byhalia’s Sounds of Summer

Dear Editor,

Sounds of Summer was organized by chair Sarah Kinkade and the festival committee – Angie Cannon, Faye Woods, Jessica Hughes, Montie Hamblen, Alex McClarty, Bill Kinkade, Doug Royal, Russell Pennington, Sarah Sawyer, Jennifer Newsom, George Johnson and William Rose. They worked hard to make the festival full of highlights and fun. Other volunteers included the Town of Byhalia board and staff, Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Byhalia Lions Club, Citizens Bank, Byhalia, Marshall County Board of Supervisors, Daylon Cannon, Fencing Solutions, Shawn McCarley, Geno Perrette & sons, Doug Johnson.

We thank each one of you who supported and attended the 10th Annual Sounds of Summer Festival. Volunteerism, donations, sponsorships, labor, promotions, patronizing the vendors and all it takes to provide this special community event is impossible without your support and dedication.

Our appreciation to Doug Royal and the Byhalia Public Works team for their tireless efforts, Byhalia Police Department for their help in security and traffic control, and the Byhalia Volunteer Fire Department for providing first responder support.

A blended lineup of local and international musical entertainers included the following opening acts – St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church choir, Merit Koch & Co. and Dolla Bill Dodson. International artist and musical historian Memphis Jones rounded out the show with a high energy info-tainment of blues, soul, and rock and roll.

A special thank you to  the main stage sponsor Rockwool, and music sponsors Northcentral Electric Power and 95.3 The Rebel.

We are fortunate through Chamber Champions, Builders and Members to provide this event for the Byhalia area. Thank you for sharing our letter of appreciation. The South Reporter and Pigeon Roost News continue to serve as reliable platforms for the Sounds of Summer Music and Arts Festival.

Sincerely,
Sheri Perrette
